Mrs. Lavern Simpson, 81 years young, of Fayettevile, Georgia, was given her wings on Saturday, October 15, 2022.
Lavern was born July 19, 1941 to Inez Jennings-Shropshire and Wesley Daniels in Fayette, GA.
She was a mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, godmother, confidant, and friend to so many.
"Lavern loved going to concerns, plays, and theater, and she loved dancing. She enjoyed fashion and music. Two of her favorite recording artists were Whitney Houston and Luther Vandross.
When residing in Saint Augustine, Florida, Lavern cooked the best fried fish in town! During the holidays, Lavern would never disappoint anyone with the arrangement of cooked dishes she prepared for the feast. She retired from Woodbridge State School in Woodbridge, New Jersey where she was sell loved by the staff, and clients.
Lavern was preceded in death by her parents, Inez Jennings, and Wesley Daniels; her sister, Deborah Diane Shropshire; her brother, Billy Jennings; and her grandson, Dashon L. Butler.
Lavern is survived by her partner, Charles Sanks, Sr.; son, Terrance Simpson; daughter Valerie Simpson, daughter, Theresa Edwards and sons, Charles Sanks, Jr. and Victor Sanks; sisters, Mae Julia King, Annette Daniels, Wesley Mae Daniels, and brothers, Jalen Shropshire, Alephonso Shropshire, Carl Shropshire; grandson, Corey Sweet, and granddaughters, Shani Butler and Samaiyah Butler; and a host of grandcildren, nieces, nephews, bonus family and friends.
