God saw fit to call his angel home.  Mr. Leon Edward Stewart, 67, of Charlotte, was born March 5, 1955, to the late Coleman and Catherine Stewart.  He departed his life on September 22, 2022, at Novant Medical Center.

Leon received his education in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System.  He retired from the Department of Mecklenburg County.

His favorite past time was freshwater fishing and his many daily phone conversations he would have with his big brother, Coleman Jr.  He loved helping his family any way he could, no matter what.  He was not a man of many words, but to know him was to love him and if you were his family, he always expressed to you how much he loved you, each time you saw or spoke to him.  He had a personal relationship with God and it showed through his acts of kindness towards his family and friends.

Leon was preceded in death by his father, Coleman Stewart Sr.; his mother Catherine Stewart; and three older brothers who all died as infants.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories, one loving and devoted son, Leon Edward Harden (DeMia) of Charlotte, NC; one loving and devoted big brother Coleman Stewart, Jr. (Rosa) of Charlotte, NC; two beautiful granddaughters, A'Mya and Janae; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
