Leonard "Pop" Guy, Sr. , was born February 1, 1938 in Charlotte, NC. He left his earthly home for his heavenly home on Wednesday, April 13, 2022.
He was the son of the late Ada McClinton Guy and Leonard Guy. He was proceeded in death by one son, Bernard Guy; one grandson, Ronnie Potts; two brothers and eight sisters.
Retired from Cone Mills after 26 years as a supervisor. He was a former member of Silver Mount Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC. Pop enjoyed nature to the fullest. He loved everything outdoors – baseball, fishing, gardening, hunting and most of all the beach. His love for outdoors led him to yearly maintain acres of fruits and vegetables to share with family and friends. He made memories that will last a lifetime and never forgotten.
Pop's long life will forever be cherished by his wife of 63 years and caretaker, Mamie Young Guy; his four sons, Leonard Guy Jr. (Kim), Ronnie Guy (Coretta), David Guy (Doris) and Donald Guy (Petra); his two daughters, Dr. Shea Dunham and Tiya Williams; five sisters-in-law, Dorothy Simpson of Newark, New Jersey, Robbie (Gary) Moore of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Carol Miller, Lillie Cunningham, Carrie Bankhead.
He also leaves to mourn twenty-three grandchildren, thirty-seven great-grandchildren a host of nieces, cousins and friends.
