Lester Taylor, Jr., eldest son of Lester Sr. and Ida Mae (Pempleton) Taylor, passed away at age 90 only July 22, 2019.

Lester was born on November 6, 1928 in Lugoff, SC. He served in the United States Airforce where he was trained as a mechanic and developed a passion for gadgets and tinkering. He also liked to collect light houses and model ships. He built a successful business and provided the dignity of work for others. He was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, and his compassionate spirit. Lester took fashion cues from no one.  He loved children and doted on his grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by all his siblings; brothers; William James Taylor, Donnie Eugene Taylor, and just last year his sister Georgia, his wife; Margaret (Jeter), a son James Lester and his parents.

He is survived by two children; Vivian Carelock and Sylvester Taylor, daughter-in-law; Donna Dinkin, sisters-in-law; Mildred Bailey, and Angela Yvonne Taylor; nephew, Rashid Taylor; five grandchildren; Michael Taylor, Nakia Carelock, Teresa Carelock, Joseph Taylor, Noah Taylor; five great-grandchildren Brandon, Aliyah, Dajia, Jaylon, and Ja'Niya Carelock; a very special and cherished cousin Shirley Hailey. He loved and was loved by a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will hold a private memorial service. Cards and letters of remembrance may be sent to the family in care of Sylvester Taylor, 4702 Crystal Lake Drive, Greensboro, N.C.
