OBITUARY
Lillie Canady was born to the late Joe Henry and Martha Thompson on July 31, 1949 in Richlands, North Carolina. She received her education in the Onslow County School System, attending Woodson Elementary School and Georgetown High School.
In May of 1963 Lille met and began dating the love of her life, Mr. Mack Daniel Canady, Jr. Following their three-year courtship, Lillie married her soul mate on November 24, 1966. Through this beautiful union of love came the birth of their daughter Jocelyn.
Lillie's professional tenure Childcare Development; retiring from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System. She made a lasting impression on the lives of every child she touched and was an amazing storyteller. She loved to share her gift story telling for birthday's parties and online for Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. She also mastered being an entrepreneur selling handbags, jewelry and oils. She would get you every time with her amazing charm, personality and infectious smile.
Lillie was a resourceful person who took pride in assisting EVERYONE in getting WHATEVER he or she needed. Everyone in her community knew that she would "get it done." She loved serving her church, church family and
most of all serving God. Volunteering and soliciting volunteers was another avenue that she mastered to help others, she was everyone's "Go To" when they needed help or assistance with their Ministry. Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Great Things, My Sisters House, CMS where all blessed to have Lillie's gift of being extremely resourceful. She knew EVERYBODY!
Lillie, affectionately known as "Lil" was a virtuous woman who loved and cared dearly for her family and friends. Pleasing God and obeying scripture was her top priority. She never sought attention or recognition; she just wanted to be used by God. She spent many hours on the phone daily ministering and sharing God's word with others.
Lillie was preceded in death by her sister Martha Ann Thompson and brother Joe Henry Thompson Jr. Lillie leaves to cherish her memory Mack D. Canady Jr; daughter, Jocelyn Segars (Jada); brother, Tony Thompson (Jacqueline); adopted daughter, Traci Bullock: BFF, Mrs. Brenda Boyce and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and lifelong dear friends.
