Linda W. Gittens (Ma, Lin, Hammer) 70, of Charlotte, North Carolina, went to be with Jesus and her mother on Thursday, December 16, 2021, at 8:47 AM. Linda's mom Doris Lang who passed away last year (2020) holds December 16th as her birthday; may they dance and give praise to their Lord all over heaven.
The Memorial service will be held at 3pm Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Grier Funeral Service-Chapel located at 115 John McCarroll Ave Charlotte, NC 28216. Masks are required to be worn at the chapel to be in person for the service. Those unable to travel to Charlotte, NC or wishing to join virtually a custom link will be added to the Linda W. Linda's wishes were to have 3 Urns for her "3 Boys". Due to the pandemic and current COVID-19 conditions, there will be no repast after the service.
Linda was born on March 22, 1951, in Flushing, New York in the borough of Queens; to the parents of Howard J. Banks and Doris May Lang. Linda attended Francis Lewis High School in the borough of Queens, NY. Linda spent most of her time at home in her earlier years; loving, shaping, and molding her "3 boys" to become the men they are today.
Linda began her working career in the banking industry for Chase Manhattan Bank; now known as JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. Linda was well known and reliable on the back end to handle and oversee the Data Processing portion related to commercial, savings, credit card-merchant services processing for Chase. Linda was with Chase for about 15 years before leaving New York and heading to start a new life down in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Linda loved and lived for her "3 boys" with every fiber of her being and above all was committed to and loved Jesus Christ as her Lord & Savior. Linda was a faithful member of Christ Pentecostal Temple Inc. for many years in Jamaica, NY under the leadership of Pastor Marion Lockett before moving to Charlotte, North Carolina in 1996.
Left to cherish and carry her memories are her "3 boys": Robert L. Gittens, Byron D. Gittens, Jamaal A. Gittens. Linda also had two grandchildren she loved and helped to mold them with her evangelical loving and bold spirit: Robert W. Gittens, Xander R. Gittens.
