Mrs. Linda Janet Hamilton-Hunter, 77 of Charlotte, transitioned on Friday, November 5, 2021 at Atrium Health Main.

Linda Hamilton-Hunter was born on January 28, 1944 to the late James and Annie Ollison Fulcher in Mesic, NC.  One sibling preceded her death, James B. Fulcher.   She obtained her education through the Pamlico County Public Schools and she attended NC A&T State University and Winston Salem State University.

Linda Hamilton-Hunter met her soulmate, Clarence Ervin Hunter, in 1975 and they were united in holy matrimony on November 26, 1977.  She was a very selfless and giving person, often thinking of others before herself.

Linda Hamilton-Hunter was a very strong-willed woman who trusted God.  She was a breast cancer survivor and she survived a medical incident  in 2018 that led her to recover from being in an induced coma for 43 days.  She was a beacon of hope and would often encourage others in their time of sickness.

Linda Hamilton-Hunter was a woman of faith and gave her life to Christ at an early age.  She was a member of her family church, Pilgrim Baptist Church, Oriental, NC, until she moved to Greenville, NC in 1987.  She later joined Cornerstone MB Church in 1988.  She was a faithful member of Cornerstone MB Church where she served as a deaconess, senior choir member, and usher.  She was also involved with the Prison Ministry, Women's Ministry, and Meal on Wheels ministries until she moved to Charlotte, NC in May 2019.  She believed in standing up for her rights.  While at NC A&T, she was a civil rights activist and participated in Woolworth Sit-Ins.

Linda Hamilton-Hunter retired from Weyerhaeuser Corporation in New Bern, NC in 2002.  She then pursued her passion for entrepreneurship. From 2003 to 2017, she ran "The Professional Woman Fashion Boutique."  She took such pleasure in ensuring a woman looked her very best.  She loved fashion.  She was an avid traveler, she loved watching movies and reading novels.  She loved growing plants and maintaining flowers.  Linda Hamilton-Hunter loved to laugh and had such a great sense of humor.  She had an intense love for her family and friends.

Linda Hamilton-Hunter leaves to cherish her memories: her devoted husband of almost 45 years Clarence Hunter, four sons, Maurice Hamilton of Durham, NC, Clarence (Elease) Hunter of Lillington, NC.  Quentin (Lisa) Hamilton of Burlington, NC and Justin Hunter of Charlotte, NC; one brother Archie (Audrey) Fulcher of Irmo SC; two sisters, Bonnie (Odell) Whitney of Raleigh NC, and Barbara Spivey of Georgetown, SC.; seven grandchildren, Monica Hunter, Brandon Hunter, Nia Hamilton, Maya Hamilton, Joy Hunter, Nolan Hunter, and Aliyah Hamilton; one aunt Viola O. Hudson; two uncles Alphonsia Ollison and Hubert Ollison and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
