Ms. Linda Faye LeGrande, 65, of Charlotte, NC, departed this life on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at her residence.
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness . . ." 2 Timothy 4:7-8 KJV
Mrs. Linda Faye Meeks LeGrande, 66, was born August 16, 1958, in Pineville, NC, to her parents, Sallie Cunningham and Samuel Lee Meeks. She was a devoted wife, a caring mother and grandmother, and a dear friend to many. She was a woman of grace and beauty, with a smile and heart that would light up any room. To all who knew her, Linda was a loving and warm-hearted woman. She passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, December 19, 2024.
Linda loved God with all her heart and dedicated her life to Christ. For over 15 years, she ministered God's love for people at the Hour of Redeemed Outreach Center where her husband, Rev. Herbert LeGrande, was pastor and she was First Lady.
Linda came to meet many friends and families through Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools where she was an educator for over thirty years. She had much care and love for children. She believed in being a lifelong learner and enjoyed the simple things in life with a little laughter.
After she retired from CMS, she started other adventures such as playing the guitar in her spare time, reading the Bible and expressing God's word to all who would listen. Even until her last breath, Linda expressed her safety in God's grace. She had a devout relationship with God.
Linda was preceded in death by her loving husband of 41 years, Rev. Herbert Grande. She is survived by daughters, Kyra and Sarah; grandchildren, Alexis, Cameron, Niah, David, Nicholas, Hannah, Alex, Angel, Kyler and Kyron; siblings, Donna, Lerome, Shelia and Melvin; sisters-in-law, Dora Saunders (Carlton) and Trina Kinlaw (Gilbert); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Linda Meeks LeGrande's life was a testament of her faith. We are reminded in Proverbs 31:26, "She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue."
Mom, you have taken your last step on this side of the world, and it has been a huge joy and pleasure that God gave us a great mother with great influence in our lives. We love you, Mom, and you will be missed. Well done, Mom, you put in a great fight and carried your crown. Now take your rest.
