Linda Smith, 75, of Charlotte, NC, departed this life on Monday, November 18, 2024, at her residence.

Linda D. Parrott Smith was born on July 15, 1949, to the late Eloise E. Parrott in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She passed away peacefully at her home in Charlotte, NC, on Monday, November 18, 2024, surrounded by family. Following her mother's passing in August 2016, Linda embraced the role of matriarch for the Parrott family as the eldest daughter, guiding and supporting her loved ones.

Linda was educated in the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools, where she was a cheerleader and graduated from Atkins High School. She continued her education and built a successful career in banking, ultimately retiring from the industry. She lived an active life, engaging in activities such as traveling, bowling, quilting, solving crossword and jigsaw puzzles, sewing, and supporting her family.

Linda's Christian journey began in her childhood at Hanes Memorial Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Winston-Salem, NC, under her mother's guidance. She remained active in various church ministries. As an adult, Linda continued her faith journey and became a dedicated member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC, where she served in the quilting and dance ministries. She enjoyed spending time with her church family and serving others.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved and only child, Brian C. Parrott of Charlotte, NC; granddaughter, Bria Davenport of Durham, NC; one sister, Floyretta E. Parrott of Winston-Salem, NC; three brothers, Timothy W. Parrott (Pam), Anthony D. Parrott (Toya), both of Winston-Salem, NC, and Dr. Kevin B. Parrott of Tampa, FL. Linda had several special friends and family members who will deeply miss her, including Mr. David Smith, Susie (Bill) Parrott, Evelyn "Bonnie" Wilson and Christine Irby. Her legacy will continue through a host of friends, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will cherish her memory.
