Ms. Lizzie Mae McCleave Head, 84 of Charlotte, gained her wings on Friday September 11, 2020 at Novant Presbyterian Health-Main. She was born on December 24, 1935 in McConnell, South Carolina to Thad McCleave and Minnie Bell Hope McCleave, who preceded her in death.  She is at HOME resting with family members who have gone HOME before her.  Lizzie attended Charlotte Mecklenburg School System.  She was a member of First Mt. Zion Missionary Circle, Charlotte, N.C.  She retired from J. C. Penney's.

Family left to cherish Lizzie's memories are her children, Debra Betty (Jack) of Charlotte, N.C. and Ronald McCleave (Marie) of Atlanta, GA; Grandchildren, Quintin McCleave (Tonya) of Atlanta, GA, Demetria Melton of Charlotte, N.C., Rachel McCleave Poole (Joe) Of Atlanta, GA, Kenneth and Kenyota McClure of Charlotte, N.C.  Elijah and Elisa McCleave of Charlotte, N.C.; Great grandchildren, Jordyn, Nathan, and Austin Poole, Shavar Harley, Georigo Coleman, Amiya and Javarius Beatty, all of Charlotte, N.C.; Aunt, Fannie Elder of Charlotte, N.C.; Sisters, Daisy Robinson of Baltimore, Maryland and Ruby Bodden of Valrico, Florida; Special niece, Brenda McCleave; Godson, Lawrence McDuffie, and a host of other relatives.

Heavenly family, her husband, Ulysses Head; children, Kenneth and Charles McCleave; Brothers, Johnny Lee McCleave, Robert Ray McCleave, James Henry McCleave, Bernard "Rip" McCleave, Hope Thaddeus McCleave; Grandson, James Edward Melton Jr., and great granddaughter, Shania McClure.
