Loretta Barnes, 90 of Charlotte, transition of life to eternity on Thursday, November 26, 2020 at Levine & Dickson-Aldersgate. She was born November 28, 1929 to the late Oscar and Willie Barnes in Lancaster, South Carolina.
When one thinks about the extent of a person's life, we should think of the dash that is in between birth and expiration because it is the dash that tells the true story. Loretta, or Aunt Faye as she was affectionately known, was a quiet spirit. She loved to cook and watch sports, but her favorite pastime was working on word puzzles.
Loretta completed her education in Lancaster and Cabarrus County. Pleasant Grove AME Zion Church was her home church where she worked with the Trustee Board and was a faithful member before moving to Flint Michigan.
Although preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Loretta leaves to cherish her memories four loving nephews, Oscar A. Barnes, III (Edna), of Charlotte, NC; Eddie Brown (Rachel), Apostle Lonnie Brown (Frances), Johnny Brown, and one niece, Mary Cobb (Leroy) all of Flint, Michigan. She leaves a host of cousins and friends.
