Loretta grew up in a loving close knit family of three sisters and one brother, all of whom preceded Loretta in transitioning.
While growing up in Bedford-Stuyvesant Brooklyn, Loretta attended P.S. 3 and the original Girl's High, then later graduated from secretarial school at the top of her class in typing and stenography. Loretta received two more promotions that included office manager and editorial assistance to the company newsletter before retiring after 30 years of service.
Loretta later married and found tremendous happiness with Delano Lewis. As a faithful servant of God, Loretta joined the Jehovah's Witness congregation of Bushwick on Eldert Street, and dedicated her life to attaining and living by the knowledge, wisdom, and understanding of the Holy Scriptures. Always encouraging and blessed with wisdom, Loretta made an indelible mark on all those who had the pleasure to make her acquaintance.
Upon their retirement, Loretta and Delano moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, where she joined the Miranda Road Congregation and gained a multitude of spiritual brothers and sisters whom she became a very fond of and treated like family.
