A TIME TO BE BORN: Lou Pearl Johnson was the first of five children born to Wade and Ethel Johnson on July 23, 1947 (recorded on July 28, 1947) in Washington, Georgia. She moved to Charlotte, North Carolina with her parents at an early age.
A TIME TO WORSHIP: Pearl joined the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church during her teenage years and attended on a regular basis. She also enjoyed several television ministries when she was unable to attend her home church.
A TIME TO LEARN: Pearl attended school in Charlotte Mecklenburg and graduated from West Charlotte High School in 1965. Thereafter, she graduated from Johnson C. Smith University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. As a strong advocate for education, Pearl further completed a Master's Degree in Technology Education from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.
She began her working career in the insurance industry at Allstate Insurance Company an subsequently worked for several other Fortune 500 companies as a Senior Claims Adjuster. Her reputation as a seasoned and knowledgeable professional resulted in several accolades and awards.
Pearl loved history and politics. She loved watching CNN and MSNBC to remain abreast of world events. She could discuss politics and world events with anyone.
A TIME TO DIE: On Friday, October 28, 2022, Pearl's work on earth was completed and she went home to rest. She will rejoice with family members who preceded her in death. In addition to her parents, Pearl was preceded in death by two brothers, Willie and Robert, and a sister, Irene Hudson.
A TIME TO MOURN: Precious memories remain with those who loved her and the many lives she touched. Survivors include sisters, Deloris and Alice; special nephew and nieces, Daryl, Nikki, and Stephanie; one special great-nephew, Jordan; one aunt, Lunelle Stewart; an sister-in-law, Mamie Johnson; a special cousin Dorothy Warlick; and a host of other close relatives and friends.
