Mrs. Lucille M. Dunlap, 83, of Charlotte, NC departed this life on Friday, April 26, 2024, at her residence.

Lucille Magalene Tate Williams Dunlap was born in Lincoln County, North Carolina to the late James Kemp Tate and Mary Lee Hunter Tate, on February 16, 1941.  After a long pain staking bout with cancer and other health problems, Lucille transitioned ever so peacefully from this life to her eternal life on April 26, 2024.

In addition to her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by daughters, Wendy Tate and Suzette Williams; husband, Eddie Dunlap, Jr.; sister, Jeannette Tucker; two brothers-in-law, Mack McDowell and Forest Eaves.

Lucille received her formal education in the Lincoln County Schools.  She then met and married Samuel Williams in September,1957.  The union was blessed with seven girls.  During the rearing of the girls, the Holy Spirit guided her through becoming a certified nurse.  As Lucille continued to raise her girls with the fear of God, she excelled in her nursing career by giving the most loving care to each person she cared for as well as the families. On June 2, 1978 came Joey Williams, her oldest grandchild who instantly became her first son.  After becoming disabled, she continued to love and faithfully nurture her girls to no end in the church.  The house was always filled with plenty of laughter, dancing and singing.  As the social butterfly she was, she continued to go to concerts and gatherings bringing back dance moves and songs to her girls. As her girls left home and started their careers, Lucille was never left alone.  She enjoyed taking road trips and other outings with them every chance she was able to.  It was non-stop until health issues curved her travels as much.  But that did not stop Lucille from any goings on because it was brought to her.  This continued to bring a smile to her face knowing that her girls and grandchildren were going to be okay because of how she taught them to love and obey God.

Lucille Magalene Tate Williams Dunlap leaves to cherish fond memories four daughters, Sandra Broome, Terry Bell (Fitz), Priscilla Johnson (Talib) and Amy Williams; two sisters, Hattie Eaves of Charlotte, Maggie McDowell; one brother, James Lewis Tate (Elizabeth); grandchildren, Joey Williams, Jantia Williams (Randy), Nicka Williams (B), Derrick Bell, Jr. (Kerina), Tristan Withers, Craig Johnson, Christopher Johnson, Jazmine Harris, D'Andre Williams and Andreka Williams (Patrick), all of Charlotte, NC; twenty great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; goddaughters, Angela Jeter and Georgiana Gardner; along with a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
