Mrs. Lucresia Baker Cunningham, 76 years of wisdom, was called home on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at her residence in Charlotte, North Carolina. Mrs. Lucresia B. Cunningham was born on January 9, 1947 in Chesterfield County, SC to Mrs. Luzetta H. Baker (Charlotte, NC) and the late Mr. Richard Baker, Senior (Chesterfield, SC).

Mrs. Cunningham attended West Charlotte High School and was an employee of the United States Postal Service for over 30 years. She had recently retired from working in food services for Charlotte Mecklenburg School System for about 15 years. Mrs. Cunningham loved the Lord, serving faithfully as an usher and singing on the choir for many years, last attending Reeder Memorial Baptist Church. Mrs. Cunningham was also a member, and at one point very active, of the Order of Eastern the Star.

Affectionately known as "Cresia" and "MaMa", Mrs. Cunningham was the epitome of strength, poise, resilience, and sass. Sweet enough to always have bought or made you something you may have only mentioned in passing, yet sure of herself enough to command respect with just a look; Mrs. Cunningham was one of a kind and is surely irreplaceable. Mrs. Cunningham was also a jack-of-all-trades. Known as the family photographer, seamstress, host-of-good-times, crafting guru, jewelry-maker, and "techy", "Cresia" was assured to know how to do some of everything and have some of anything.

Mrs. Cunningham was preceded in death by her spouse, Mr. Will Junior Cunningham (Charlotte, NC); father, Mr. Richard Baker, Sr; and brother Mr. Richard Baker, Jr (Charlotte, NC).

Mrs. Cunningham leaves to cherish precious memories her mother, Mrs. Luzetta H. Baker. Three children: Clarissa Baker, Robert Cunningham (Nicole), and Vanessa Cunningham of Charlotte, NC. Seven siblings: Larry Baker, Leon Baker (Barbara), Harry Baker (Sue), Yvonne Baker Chesson, Peggy Baker (Mike), Alvin "Baker" Baker, and Lisa Baker (Gary) of Charlotte, NC. 11 grandchildren: Kenyatta C. Rogers (David), Shedarian Cunningham, Sheena Baker, Shamari Baker (Shaunda), Vonshae Cunningham, Kiah Barnett, Rashonda Cunningham, Lacresia McIver, Latisha Harvell (Charlene), Kimari Morales, Keyonna Morales, and Angel Crowder. 14 great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
