Mrs. Lula Mae Davis, 82, of Concord, NC departed this life on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Atrium Cabarrus.

Lula Mae Davis was born on March 26, 1941, in Goldsboro, North Carolina, to the late James Miller Hargrove and Alma Mae Boyette Hargrove. Lula graduated from Dillard High School, Class or 1959, which is located in Goldsboro, NC. She relocated to New York where she acquired a job with Con Edison where she later retired after about 35 years of employment.

She loved bowling and was a member of several bowling teams. She was nicknamed by Jellybeanie by coworkers and friends because she brightened up a room when she walker in the door.

Lula accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and joined Rocky Mount Baptist Church in New York City. We are blessed to have her pastor, Pastor James Ellis here with us today officiating her homegoing ceremony.

Preceding her death were her brothers, William Earl Hargrove, Cleveland Boyette, James Hargrove, Jr., and her sister, Betty Frances Hargrove.

She leaves to cherish her fond memories three daughters, Teresa Singleton, Karen Hargrove, and Valerie Hargrove; one son-in-law, Andrew Singleton, and her future son-in-law, Ellis Williams, seven grandchildren, Derek Ducayne Miller, Jason Singleton, Jasmine Singleton, Vonelle Rodriguez, Danikwa Miller, Kyle Chavis, and Jocelyn Booker; one grandson-in-law, Jordon Booker; three great-grandchildren, Kayla Young, Treshawn Fair, and Kalia Booker, three sisters, Sandra Gerald, and her husband Billy, Delores Cogdell and her husband Thurman; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, and friends near and dear.

Lula Mae will be greatly missed by all.
