Mrs. Maebell Martin, 75, of Charlotte NC departed this life on October 29, 2023 at Hospice House Huntersville.
Maebell Martin entered into the beautiful gates of heaven on the afternoon of October 29, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Sallie Lee Harris and Paul, born on May 12, 1948, in Kershaw, South Carolina. Maebell was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Butler Martin; son, Curtis Ealey; and two sisters, Joyce Harris and Delores Coleman.
Maebell lived in Kershaw as a little girl and grew to be a smart, beautiful resourceful woman. When she moved to Charlotte, NC, she joined Progressive Baptist Church (our family church) as a young adult and has been loving and praising God ever since. She sang on the choir and the Hymn Choir with her melodious alto voice.
Maebell enjoyed traveling with her mother and sisters. She also enjoyed spending time with her family. She was famous for her banana pudding. She was always one of the nicest dressed ladies in the room! Maebell loved shopping and spending time with her grandbabies.
After moving to Dalton Village, she started a career at Lance Snack Company in the early 80's and worked there for 29 years of her life.
Maebell Martin was a loving person. She was the sweetest person you could ever know. In the late 80's, she moved into her first home in Windsong Trails, where she remained until her health declined.
Maebell leaves to cherish her loving memories one son, Brian Ealey; daughter, Connie E. Rice; seven sisters, Pauline Rorie (Curtis), Barbara Ealey, Celina Branum (Joe), Linda Bates, Sandy Rankin (George), Annette Hailey (Johnny) and Gloria Harris; one brother, Jeffrey Harris; grandchildren, Shatanna E. Blue (Dedric), Charles A. Rice II; great-grandchildren, Azjonna Burnham, Dominique Burnham, Brandon Moore, Camdyen Ealey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Maybell Martin will be missed tremendously.
