Maggie T. Wright departed this earthly life September 2, 2022, at Novant Health Huntersville Medical Center. She was born to the late Lee Earl Thompson and Hellene Walker Thompson on May 24, 1960.

Maggie was a 1976 graduate of Harding University High School. She was a dedicated employee at Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools and Charlotte Area Transit systems.

Maggie was preceded in death by her brother Willie Thompson. She is survived by her husband James Maye of Charlotte, NC; son Anthony Thompson, Sr. of S.C,; daughter Sawayla Wright (Robert) of Charlotte; sons Dominique Maye and Arterious Maye both of Charlotte; three grandchildren, Amya Burder, Mesiyah Thompson and Anthony Thompson, Jr. all of Charlotte; three brothers, Mannie Thompson (Kathy), James Samuel Thompson both of Charlotte; Michael Thompson, Sr. (Myetta) of Kings Mountain; sister Lizzie T. Simpson of Raleigh, brother-in-law Lewis Maye of Lauren Hill and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Each one will pass on their love and memory of Maggie for generations to come.
