Mrs. Mamie Gill Williams was born in Lancaster, SC on October 20, 1928 and was the daughter of the late Mary Jane Benson and Mack Gill. She departed this life and entered eternal rest on Monday, July 13, 2020 at Mercy Hospital.

Mamie was raised in Great Falls, SC by her grandmother, the late Lucy Benson. She graduated from Finley High School in Chester, SC. Mamie later moved to Charlotte, NC, where she met the late Peter Williams. They had three children; daughters, Brenda Jean Williams, Diane Williams and son, Peter A. Williams.

Some of Mamie's loves…Mamie loved to cook and entertain others. Her love for cooking became her career. She spent over 60 years cooking, offering smiles and giving advice with love at S. H. Kress, Stand N' Snack and lastly at Midday at the Tower. Mamie loved praying for others. She loved listening to her music. She loved giving money to her grandchildren. MOST of all, she loved GOD with all her heart. She enjoyed her life to the fullest and had no regrets.

Mamie is survived by her daughters Brenda Jean Williams, Diane Williams Crowder, and son Peter Williams (Diane); sister Bessie Brown; grandchildren Shakela Williams, LaQuent Williams, Brandon Taylor, and Miranda Williams; great-grandchildren Anton Hubert, Jr., Asia Hoke, Quentario Oliphant, and Heaven Williams; great-great grandchild Addison Paige Hubert.
