Mrs. Margaret Alexander Hunter, 98 of Charlotte, passed away on Monday May 6, 2019 at her residence. She was born October 13, 1920 in Huntersville, NC to Mrs. Odessa Alexander and Mr. Elmore Alexander.
Mrs. Margaret Alexander married Mr. Charles Hunter on June 11, 1940. She was preceded in death by her husband, four sons and a daughter, Charles Jr., Foster, Michael, Gary and Fostina.
Mrs. Hunter was in the first graduating class of Torrence-Lytle High School in 1939. She was self employed with her own cleaning service and later in life she became a certified care giver.
She was well know for her love of fashion, especially her hats. Ms. Margaret would always tell you the truth, if no one else would. And when she said move, you best move left or move right.
During her journey she was blessed to have two grandchildren Leslie Hunter and Sharmain Cherismean, one great grandson, Kenterious Hunter and daughter in-law, Leatha Hunter that honored their commitment to take care of her, with love, honor and grace.
Her surviving family will cherish her memories: Judy Hunter of the home; Carolyn Wallace, Kermit Hunter (Leatha), Doris Samuels (James), Linda Ingram (Claude)Wadesboro, NC; Larry Hunter, Jerry Hunter (Robin), Darryl Hunter (Aleta) and Church Rivers of Atlanta, GA, 32 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, 61 great great-grandchildren, and 1 great great great-grandchild, one special grandson, Billy Davis, two surviving sisters, Mrs. Lillie May Katie Templeton of Statesville, NC and Vivian Patterson of Charlotte, NC and a host of nephews and nieces.
