Mr. Marion T. Moore, Jr., son of the late Ruby M. Thurman and Marion T. Moore, Sr., was born on April 7, 1972 in York County, Rock Hill, South Carolina. He departed this earthly life into eternal rest on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, North Carolina.
Marion graduated from Northwestern High School in Rock Hill, SC. Marion moved to Charlotte, NC in 1194 and worked as a machine operator for Box USA, Stronghaven Containers Company, Weyerhauser and International Paper Company.
Marion was a man of faither and was raised in Mount Hebron Baptist Church in Rock Hill, SC. Once in Charlotte, he attended Mount Olive Presbyterian Church, then was a member of Temple Church International from 2001-2010, then with Elevation Church from 2012 until his earthly departure.
Marion was known as a jokester who would make up a funny song out of any situation. He was also an accomplished cook.....making everything taste gourmet-Even PB & J. Marion was most famous for his chicken salad (if you know, you know), chili beans, baked beans, squash/broccoli casserole-well, pretty much everything he made was delicious.
Marion was a Diehard sports fan. His teams were the North Carolina Tarheels and the San Francisco 49ers. And DO NOT call him during the game because he will NOT answer.
Marion was a "Gentle Giant" who loved and supported his family and friends. We will always cherish those precious memories and we pray you will do the same.
Marion was preceded in death by his step-father, James Thurman; father-in-law, James T. Abnernathy, Jr., and sister, Loretta Ashley.
Left to cherish the memories of his life are his wife, Mrs. Shenova S. Moore; his daughters, Alika K. Straite and Mikayla T. Moore; grandson, Blaze Mikel Bowman; his sisters, Marcenia Jennings(Michael), Deborah Austin9 Daryl), Denise Bouler (Darrell); father and mother-in-law, Ricky M. Morrison and Myrtle Morrision; sisters-in-law, Angela Rogers (Kareem), Kimberly Parker Mason), Lonata McKnight, Lakeisha Funderburk(Derrick), Latonya Hart, Danielle Rozzelle; brothers-in-law, Chino Burch, Jameson Abernathy; his maternal nieces and nephews, Antwan Moore (Jalisha), Rashod Robinson, Sade Moore (Jose), Roneisha Straite (Kadeesha) and Marcus Bouler; uncles, John Edward Robinson (Betty), Charles Z. Robinson (Barbara); and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
