Mr. Mark Anthony Sanders was born on July 19th, 1962, in Gaston County to Craig Pope and the Late Alice Moore. He departed this life on September 23rd, 2022, at The Pearl at Fort Mill in Ft. Mill, SC. He was preceded in death by his sister Angela Springs of Charlotte, NC, and father Robert Sanders of Stanley, NC.

He was well known and loved by all that he encountered with a beautiful smile and encouraging words, He graduated from East Gaston High School, where he was an avid Track and Football star. He worked at Pharr Yarns and his last place of employment, Airgas. He loved singing, sharing soul stirring prayers and praising God with his brothers, The QCs of Mt. Holly, NC. He loved riding his motorcycles, loved being with his family, and most of all he loved his children!

He will truly be missed!

He is survived by his two children: Airman Brannon Sanders of Norfolk, VA and Sharday Sanders of Gastonia, NC, and their mother Sandra Sanders of Gastonia, NC. Three sisters: Denise Roseboro (Stanley) of Denver, NC; Susan Chandler (Mike) Atlanta, GA and Renee Digsby (Carey) of Gastonia, NC; Seven brothers: Robert Crawford of Charlotte, NC; Harold Sanders of Lincolnton, NC; Stephon Pope (Sherri) of Mt. Holly, NC; Mike Sanders of Mt. Holly, NC; Anane Thabiti (Mahogany) of Charlotte, NC; Monti Pope (Alessia) of Charlotte, NC; Steven Pope (Natasha) of Charlotte, NC, and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
