Mr. Marshall Eugene Blackman, 58 of Charlotte, passed away on Monday November 16, 2020 at his residence.

Marshall Eugene Blackman was born May 27th, 1962 to the late Marshall L. Westbrook and the late Peggy Ann Cornelius Westbrook at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Charlotte, N.C. He was the oldest of six children. Mr. Blackman attended Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools and went on to earn an Associates Degree in Electronics at Stanly Community College.

" Gene", to family and friends was known for his sense of humor and determination. He used these to overcome difficult obstacles that he faced during his life. In his employment with The Roof Above he shared  his humor and wisdom with others facing similar obstacles. His smile, his infectious laugh and humor are greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his mother and father, he is preceded in death by his brothers Bernard F. Westbrook, Charles H. Westbrook, Darin Westbrook, and nephew Jarvil Westbrook.

Gene leaves to cherish his memory daughter Mrs. Tiffany Dunn, sister Ms. Cassandra Gayten, godson Mr. Ahmad Thornton, Eugene Bernard Moss, grandaughter Ms. BreAnna Ussery, grandson Mr. Kemauri Dunn, special cousin Mr. Dwight Campbell, aunt Mrs. Martha L. Brown, nephews Mr. Michael Westbrook and Mr. Wesley Westbrook, niece Ms. Stephanie Adams as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
