Marthia Rae Burris was born March 1, 1944 in York, South Carolina to the
late Mary and Lonnie Burris. She entered into eternal peace on Tuesday,
October 24, 2023 at Gastonia Health and Rehab, surrounded by her loving
family. Marthia was preceded in death by two sons, Michael and Horace Burris;
brother, Johnny Burris and sister, Louvenia Carothers.Marthia attended Roosevelt High School in Clover, South Carolina. She worked at Pharr Yarns and Freightliner. Marthia was strong willed and
had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. She will be forever
missed by her family and friends.

Marthia leaves to cherish fond memories her sisters, Mary Burris (James),
Margaret Currence and Francina Burris, all of Mt. Holly, NC and Mozel
Nelly of York, SC; brothers, Lonnie Burris and William Burris of Mt. Holly,
NC; two grandchildren, Antonette Denise Fair and Michael O'Dell Fair of
Lincolnton, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunt, uncles, other relatives
and friends.
