Obituary

Mr. Marvin Graham, 71 of Charlotte, passed away on Wednesday April 17, 2019 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia.  He was born on May 27, 1947 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Charlotte, NC to the union of Monroe Graham and Gladys Walker Graham.

Marvin and his wife, Frances S. Graham, shared many memories at home with family and friends. They both loved working in the yard, and Marvin was known for painting and his community garden.

Marvin is survived by his son, Kevin (Monica) Graham of Charlotte; his grandchildren, Jessica, Joshua and Kirby; his great grandchildren, Makeda aka (Do Flotchie), and NoreAce aka (Bo Bo) as Grandpaw called them.

His son, Keith, preceded him in death.  He also leave to cherish him, John and Amarja McCormick, and their children, Jamorie and Gabrielle McCormick; his brother, Linwood Graham (Karen); sisters, Willie Dale, and Carol Ann Graham, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Marvin Graham, Patriarch, Husband, Brother, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Uncle and Friend.

Marvin, who was affectionately called "Pop", Uncle Marvin, Grandpaw, and Granddaddy Man had many titles and was also known as the neighborhood Mayor....even though he was never officially elected...he served, and socialized with everyone in his neighborhood and community.

Marvin was a friend to many, and a stranger to none.  He enjoyed helping others, planting, attending his garden.  Marvin was educated in the Huntersville, NC school system, and by trade was a master commercial and industrial painter.  As a master painter, he started a painting career at Pelton and Crane as a team lead for many years and later worked at Marietta Bakery, both in Charlotte.  Marvin was the owner and operator of Graham Painting Services, and was working for himself at the time of his death, with his grandson, Joshua.  Marvin taught many young men how to paint, including his sons, Keith and Kevin,  He was very proud of the Graham Legacy.

Marvin was an active member of the Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church, and he served the We Care Ministry, the Men's Choir, and volunteered as a Van Driver.

Marvin brought joy and love to all who knew him, and will greatly missed.  In closing, we will leave you with this memory of him.  One of the many infamous quotes he would say...

And then again...you on your own...

Rest in Him, Marvin Graham, we will love you always.
