Ms. Mary Williams Ervin, 87 of Charlotte, departed this life on Monday, December 28, 2020 at Novant Presbyterian Health-Main while surrounded by her family.  She was born in Charlotte, NC on October 20, 1933.  She was the eldest child of the late Lindsay and Katherine Williams, the wife of the late Arthur Ervin, Sr. and the daughter-in-law of the late Grace Brown.

In 1952, Mrs. Mary Ervin graduated from Second Ward High School and through the years was a proud member of the Second Ward Alumni Association.  She had been an active member of the First Mayfield Memorial Baptist Church for more than 20 years and was one of the Church's founding members.  Her extensive life was well-lived as a devoted mother, homemaker, gardener, avid tourist and faithful friend.  She was sensitive, fierce and passionate soul who led with her heart.

Mrs. Ervin is survived by her daughter:  Michelle Ervin; Son: Arthur Ervin, Jr.; Granddaughter: La'Kesha Ervin; Grandsons: Arturo Ervin and Malik Ervin. Brothers: Lindsay Williams, Jr., and Robert Williams (Ella); Sister: Barbara Williams (Irvin Heard, Jr.) One niece and a host of nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, cousins, loyal neighbors an many good friends.
