Mary Alice Firms, 81, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.

Mary Alice Firms was the daughter of the late Thomas E. Firms, Sr., and Jessie Mae Firms-Digsby. She was born on September 18, 1944.

Mary was a dedicated employee of Kenneth Home Fashions until her retirement. Throughout her years of service, she was known for her dependability, strong work ethic, and commitment to excellence.

Mary was an accomplished seamstress who enjoyed making clothing and performing alterations for family, friends, and others who appreciated her talents. Her attention to detail and creative touch allowed her to transform simple fabrics into beautiful garments made with love and care. Sewing was more than a skill; it was a gift she generously shared with those around her.

Mary also enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. She loved doing word-search puzzles and spending quiet evenings watching her favorite vintage television shows. Whether relaxing at home or enjoying the company of loved ones, she found happiness in the everyday moments that brought comfort and joy.

Family was at the center of Mary’s life. She cherished time spent with her loved ones at family gatherings filled with food, laughter, fellowship, and treasured memories. Her home and heart were always open, and she took great pride in the bonds she shared with her children, grandchildren, extended family, and friends. The love she gave so freely will continue to be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her sons, Verdell Robinson and Janell Robinson (Donna); her sister, Marvia Mazyck; along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Laura Mae Porter and Edith Johnson; and her brothers, Thomas Firms Jr., Larry Firms, Eleazar Firms, Kozella Firms, Sr., and Jason Crowell.

Mary's life was a testament to hard work, devotion to family, and simple acts of kindness. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know and love her.
