Mrs. Mary Emma Wooten-Dupree was born August 17, 1930 to the late William and Lucinda Thigpen Dupree. She departed this life on June 17, 2023 at Peak Nursing Home.

Mary leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Gerome "Kent" Dupree (Wanda) and Tyrone Wooten, and one daughter, Tammy Wooten, all of Charlotte, North Carolina; six grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; seven sisters, Earnestine Hayes (Dallas) of Harrell's, North Carolina, Hazel Harris (George) of Greenville, North Carolina, Ellen Horne of Macclesfield, North Carolina, Carolyn Wooten McVay of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Brenda Hall, Mamie Dupree, and Rose Winstead, all of Pinetops, North Carolina; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lucinda Dupree; wonderful loving son, Frederick Wooten; the apple of her eye, her first grandchild, Damien Dupree; three sisters, Myrtle Battle, Earnestine Smith, and Mary Ann Williams; three brothers, Williams Dupree, William Roger Dupree, and Kenneth Ray Dupree; and three brothers-in-law, George Battle, Robert Smith, Louis McVay.
