Obituary

Ms. Mary Helen Livingston (Mae Helen), 85 of Charlotte, passed away on Sunday April 14, 2019 at Peak Resources.  She was born January 1, 1934 in Allendale, South Carolina to the late Alene Walker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Livingston Jr., grandmother, Perilla Gaston; daughter, Cynthia Livingston; granddaughter, Barbara Alexis Livingston; sisters, Cellie Mae Robinson, Rosa Barrett; brothers, Reverend Eugene Walker, Goines Walker, Castelle Walker, and special friends, James and Willie Fair Maxwell.

Mae Helen attended Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools.  She worked as a housekeeper for many years at Manger Motor Inn.  She was a member, for many years, of Community Outreach Christian Ministries under the leadership of her late niece, Pastor Barbara Brewton Cameron.  Mae Helen's love of music was displayed greatly throughout her life.  She sung for many years with The Helping Hand Gospel Singers and was a proud member of Napoleon Brown and the Southern Sisters.   Mae Helen was extremely family oriented and loved her family dearly.  She was known for her southern cooking, especially her mixed greens. She truly cared for everyone she encountered and those who knew her grew to love her dearly.

Mae Helen leaves to cherish her memories sons, Daryl Livingston (Barbara Ann), Reginald Donnell Livingston (Connie); daughter, Deborah Ann Livingston Steele (Johnny); 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 10 great great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and special friend, Ms. Sallie Mae Jamison and Angela Maxwell.
