Celebrating Mae Bobbie's Fabulous Life

Mary Bob "Mae Bobbie" Robinson, 96 of Charlotte, passed away on Friday September 13, 2019 at Carolinas Medical Center-Main. She was the only child of Charles and Ethel Wilks.  She was born on August 31, 1923.

She was reared in Charlotte, NC where she grew up and attended high school, she attended cosmetology school, and upon completion started her career as a hairdresser in her own beauty shop.  Later, she traveled abroad with her family where she resided for thirty years.

During this period, she had the opportunity to visit many wonderful places including the Holy Land, Paris, Russia, Japan, Scotland, German, Italy, Spain and England.  In 2011, she returned to her home in Charlotte where she resided until her death.

Reading, traveling, and vacationing with the family were just a few of her hobbies.

She leaves to cherish her memories of her family, her son, Eugene Irby of Philadelphia, PA and her daughters, Claudette DeWitt and Bobbie Joyce Hasberry, both of Charlotte, NC; her grandchildren, Joy Collette Daniels, Bruce DeWitt, Aarick Oronde Hasberry (Qiana), Corinna DeWitt, Christopher Irby, LaVoris Anthony, Gina Jackson, Samuel B. Spencer, and Eric Irby; her great-grandchildren, Joie Celeste Hasberry, Yashi Eve Hasberry Humphrey, Maya Simone DeWitt Lynch, Addison Stone Hasberry and Richardson Titan Hasberry; a host of relatives and friends.

We will rejoice in the legacy of love that she has left our family and the life lesson of "never giving up."

Mary Bob extended her wings during her time on earth.  Her kindness and true spirit of love that she exhibited prior to the onset of her illness will always be remembered.
