Mary Woods departed this life October 8, 2018.  Born on July 14, 1924 in Mecklenburg County, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Fleming Woods; her parents, Louis and Azzie Lee Ray Foust; and her siblings and their spouses, Thomas (Rosa), Robert (Shelby), Clara (Bob), Arthur (Catterina Rosa), Annie and Samuel.

Mrs Woods retired from Charlotte Memorial Hospital (now CMC/Atrium) in 1989 after 27 years as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was a graduate of Pineville High School and attended Barbara Scotia College and Central Piedmont Community College, where she received her nursing certification.

At an early age she joined McClintock Presbyterian Church. At her passing, she was a faithful member of Statesville Avenue Presbyterian Church.

Her survivors include son Kenneth F. Woods (Deborah) Lithonia Ga.; daughter Yolonda Hemphill (Kelvin) of Charlotte; Grandchildren, Kenan Woods, Danika Woods, Kristen Broughton (Stephon) of Atlanta Ga; Kelson Hemphill and Corin Hemphill of Charlotte. Great -Grandchildren Sean Herberling, Santana and Karson Broughton ,Grayson Hemphill. Sisters-in Law Willie Mae Blair, Betty Adams, Beverly Thornwell (Tom) all of Charlotte and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Services are Monday October 15 at Statesville Avenue Presbyterian Church 3435 Nevin Rd Charlotte NC 28217.
