Mattie Ethel Jamison, 100 of Charlotte, entered eternal rest on Friday January 4, 2019 at Mecklenburg Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Mattie was born to the late John Lee Grier and Mattie Neal Grier on August 4, 1918.  She was married to the late William G. Jamison for 54 years.  To his union was born six children.  She was preceded in death by three sons, John W. Jamison, Earnest M. Jamison and Ronald C. Jamison.

Mattie was a life-time member of Mt. Olive Presbyterian Church.  She was a member of the Senior Choir and was involved with the Senior Citizens.  She was Assistant Church Secretary from 1972 to 1973.  She served on the Trustee Board, as well as the Deacon Board and the Women's Missionary Society.  In the early 1980's, she was active in the Garrison Road Community Club.

Mattie was educated at Mt. Olive School.  She worked as a housekeeper for several families in the Steele Creek Community and for Mecklenburg Schools.  She was the family historian.  She loved to cook and take care of family and friends.

Mattie leaves to cherish her memories three children, Mildred J. Wilkes, Grady E. Jamison and David H. Jamison (Arthur Mae); five grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; and a host of great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
