Ms. Mellia Jane Wallace-Lucas, 91 of Charlotte, departed this life on Friday, January 1, 2021 at her residence. She was born December 5, 1929 in Union County, SC to Dave and Carrie Henderson.

Mellia loved the Lord with all her heart.  She was a true living testimony who loved to sing, do word puzzles, eat snacks and read the Bible.

Mellia was very active at O'Zion AME Zion Church, Dixie Community, Missionary Society, and Connectional Lay Council.

She was the last of 15 children.  She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings; two husbands, James Wallace and Charlie Lucas and two sons, James Wallace Jr. and Joseph Wallace.

Mellia is survived by one son, David Wallace; five daughters, Shirley Jones, Mary Wallace, Gwendolyn Drayton, Cardenious Prather, and Carolyn Myers; 19 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, 37 great great grandchildren, and 5 great great great grandchildren, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
