Mr. Memphis Lewis Smith, 64 of Charlotte, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at his residence. Memphis was born in Cowpens, South Carolina and could accomplish anything mechanical or dealing with an automobile he set his mind to do.

He was the owner of Morningside II, located in Charlotte, North Carolina, North Carolina.  He is survived by his two sons, Memphis Lewis Smith, Jr and Shannon T. Reid, three granddaughters Deja Deas, Jennifer Deas, and Anna Deas and two grandsons Scottie Robinson, Jr. and Marlowe Henderson, Jr., seven great grandchildren, Mariah and Malaysia Deas, Jamia Matthews, Quantarius and Jakaylin Stroud, Izabella and Hendrix Henderson, sister, Hortense Smith and a whole host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Memphis was preceded in death by his wife Princess Reid Smith, daughter Renita Deas, parents James and Lillie Smith, brothers James Ford, James Smith (Smitty) and Vance Smith.
