Michael Donnell Anthony, born December 25, 1959, passed away quietly on Wednesday, December 13, 2023.

A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, Michael was the son of Carolyn Anthony Evans.

Michael was educated in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and graduated from West Charlotte High School in 1978. Very shortly after graduation, he began working for Duke Power, later to be called Duke Energy. After forty-four years of service, he retired December 31, 2022.

Michael joined Mount Carmel Baptist Church at the age of twelve. He was a member of the Sunday School Department, Children's Choir, and Boy Scouts.

Michael was a quiet person, much like his favorite mentor, his grandfather, Isaac Anthony, Sr., affectionately  known as "Big Daddy". He spent many hours walking and talking with him and copying many of Big Daddy's ways. They also shared the birthdate of December 25th.

Michael is preceded in death by his grandparents, Isaac and Sylvia Anthony, and his favorite aunt, Mary A. Brooks.

Michael leaves to cherish his memories one son Shannon Reid; one daughter, Ariana Anthony; two grandchildren, Kaidence and Kali Johnson, his mother Ms. Carolyn Anthony Evans, one sister, Ms. Juli Evans; and a village of family and friends.
