Michael Grier, 62 of Charlotte, NC, transitioned to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 14, 2022 at Atrium Health surrounded by his loved ones.  Michael was born to Sarah Grier and the late Leroy Grier Jr., on August 30, 1959.

Michael was educated at Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools.  He enjoyed working in the maintenance field and also had a talent as a mechanic.  He was a member of Ramoth AME Zion Church before he became disabled.

"Big Mike" was known to be a great cook and he enjoyed cooking for family and friends. He was always well dressed, He loved music, and he loved playing chess with his great-nephew Elijah Bloomfield.  Michael found joy working on cars and planting flowers.  There was nothing he couldn't do.

In addition to his father, Leroy Grier, Jr., he was preceded in death by a brother, David Grier.

Left to cherish his loving memories are:  Mother, Sarah Grier; sons, Demontae Butcher and Devante Grier; grandsons, Davion Butcher and Rylan Grier; brother, Vincent Grier; Sisters, Bernadette Grier, Beverly Stowe and Gail Austin, all from Charlotte, NC and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
