Michael Antonio McCoy, affectionately known as "Tony" was born December 31, 1974, Charlotte, North Carolina to Linda Davidson and Robert McCoy. He departed this life on Tuesday, May 24, 2022.

Tony was educated in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System and graduated from Myers Park High School. He received many honors and awards which included "Who's Who Among American High School Students" in 1990 and 1991. Following graduation, he attended Wake Forest University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish. He also attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where he received a Master's degree in Leadership in Education.

Upon graduation from college, Tony was employed by the Charlotte Mecklenburg School system. He moved to Maryland in 2003 where he was employed by the District of Columbia and Virginia Public School systems, serving as a principal of Bancroft Elementary in Washington, DC. As the principal, Tony was chosen to participate in former First Lady Michelle Obama's White House Kitchen Garden. Tony lived a fulfilled life of educating children as he traveled to Argentina, Spain, and Paris to assist in their education.

Tony was a member of Simpson Gillespie United Methodist Church where he participated in many of the children's and youth activities. He was also a member of the 100 Black Men of Greater Washington, DC in which he was very involved.

Tony was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Alexander and Ms. Ophelia Alexander.

Left to cherish fond and loving memories are his parents of the home, James and Linda Davidson; father Robert McCoy; sisters, Ruby Pittman (Trea), Jessica McCoy; brother, Christopher McCoy; two nieces, Bella Pittman and Brielle Pittman; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
