Obituary

Michelle Burley, 57, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.

Michelle Burley, 57, formerly of Plainfield, New Jersey, quietly transitioned on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center.

Born on May 4, 1969, in Roselle, New Jersey, Michelle was the beloved daughter of the late Frank Burley, Sr. and Maxine Burley. In addition to her father, Michelle was preceded in death by her brother, Frank Burley, Jr.

Michelle lived a life filled with love, laughter, and genuine kindness. She had a gift for making everyone feel welcome, never meeting a stranger. Her warm smile, generous spirit, and caring heart left lasting impressions on all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She found joy in crafting and cooking, often expressing her love through the beautiful things she created. Above all, Michelle treasured her family, especially her beloved grandchildren, who brought immeasurable happiness to her life. She was also a devoted fan of Ralph Tresvant and New Edition, and she faithfully cheered on her favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys.

Michelle was employed by PCNA (Polyconcept North America) as an Order Processing Specialist. She valued her work family deeply, and the love and respect they shared for one another was evident throughout her career.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory her loving mother, Maxine Burley of Charlotte, North Carolina; two devoted sons, Calvin Shamaar Scott of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Jerome Lavelle Womack of Hillsborough, New Jersey; one brother, Shawn Burley of Charlotte, North Carolina; her cherished granddaughter, Maya Rose Scott; her beloved grandson, Creed Scott; one uncle, Benjamin LeGrand of Charlotte, North Carolina; two aunts, Annette Stanback and Anna LeGrand of Charlotte, North Carolina; three nieces, Patrice Smith of Flemington, New Jersey, and Olivia and Zoie Burley of Kennesaw, Georgia; one nephew, Jamar Burley of California; and a host of loving cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

Michelle's legacy is one of love, compassion, and unwavering devotion to family. Though her physical presence is no longer with us, the kindness she shared, the memories she created, and the love she gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
