I shall pass through this world but once. If, there be any kindness I can show, or any good thing I can do, let me do it now; let me not defer it or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again." - Etienne de Gr ἐ llet
Herein lies the testimony of Mildred Kathleen "Kathy" Flowe a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who devoted her life to her family, her students, and the church which she dearly loved. Kathy Flowe peacefully transitioned from her earthly abode to dwell in the eternal tabernacle of her Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Novant Health Presbyterian Hospital.

Continuing, she matriculated at Barber-Scotia College in Concord, NC and earned an undergraduate degree in Education. She went did further studies at East Carolina University in Education. Kathy developed a curriculum that was utilized in the training programs and workshop for future kindergarten teachers while at ECU.
Because her love for children enticed her to pursue a career in elementary school education, her first teaching experience became a reality in Springfield, NC. When she moved to Wilson, NC she was employed as a Kindergarten teacher at Wells Elementary School, which she lovingly referred to her students as "her babies". During her tenure, she enjoyed organizing field trips, decorating the school for various events, and serving as co-chair of the annual fall festival at the school.
Never idle, Kathy was always very involved and generously gave of her time, talents and treasures. Once she moved to Charlotte, NC she became a member Alpha Lambda Omega Chapter where she served on numerous committees, and most recently a Charter Member of Omega Iota Omega Chapter.
Kathy's church involvement was one of sincere dedication and love, as she was involved in several church ministries at Calvary Presbyterian Church (USA) in Wilson, NC for more than 30 years. While at Calvary, she served as Elder, Church School Superintendent Vacation Bible School Coordinator and Youth Group Leader. Kathy also generously gave her time doing God's work at First United Presbyterian (USA) in Charlotte, NC as Usher and on the Presbyterian Women's Council.
Surviving to cherish and rejoice in the memories of her life well lived include her son Cleveland Flowe of Morrow, Ga; Cassaundra Pointer (Barry) of Charlotte, NC; sister Betty Payne of Charlotte; brothers Guy Payne, Kenneth Payne, Carlos Payne (Jenni), and Curtis (Constance); three grandchildren: Christopher Flowe of Morrow, Ga, Barry Pointer Jr. of Charlotte, NC and Blake Pointer of Charlotte, NC; many relatives and a host of friends.
I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course. I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
-2 Timothy 4;7-8
