Mindy Boyd, 63, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026, at her residence in Charlotte, NC.

Mindy Shirell Buford Boyd was born on January 21, 1962, in Charlotte, North Carolina, to Minnie Joe Stewart and the late William Franklin Buford. On Friday, January 2, 2026, Mindy transitioned peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones.

She was a proud graduate of West Mecklenburg High School, Class of 1981. After graduation, Mindy explored entrepreneurship and later became a licensed cosmetologist. Ultimately, she built a successful career in accounting, working for Baker & Taylor Inc. for over 15 years.

Affectionately known as “Red” or “Suchie” to family and close friends, Mindy enjoyed shopping, interior decorating, and relaxing in her cherished “Woman Cave.” She had a deep appreciation for life, expressed through her generous spirit and love for others.

Mindy was preceded in death by her father, William Buford. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Larry Boyd of the home; her children, Larell of Atlanta, GA, Brandi Boyd, and William Buford Sr. (Tonnisha) both of Charlotte, NC; her mother, Minnie Joe Stewart, and stepfather, Joe Stewart of Charlotte; her sisters, Venita and Angela, both of Charlotte, and brother Petree Buford (Kellie) of Jonesboro, Arkansas; her beloved grandchildren, Donovan Boyd, William Buford Jr., and Neziah Buford; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Her memory will forever live in the hearts of those who loved her. We take comfort in knowing she now rests eternally in God’s care.
