Monica Rashel Alexander (November 29, 1986 – February 3, 2020) was a native Charlottean who was the truest definition of "A West Charlotte Native." She represented the "West Side" of Charlotte to the fullest, and affectionately greeted everyone with her signature "West Side" hand sign. She loved her family unconditionally, and they loved her the same. Monica was best known for her loving, caring, giving, and compassionate heart. Every time she encountered family and friends, she always greeted them with humor. She loved to crack a joke.
Monica's death came as a great shock to family and friends, coming at a relatively young age and with little warning. Nevertheless, she was loved by countless individuals nationwide, who will always cherish her unforgettable memories, including: her mother, Sarah Flax Alexander, father Mayhew Cuthbertson, 4 children – Stacy Holder, Allison Holder, Victoria Holder and Breon Alexander, 3 siblings – Melissa Alexander, Marcus Cuthbertson, and Larry Alexander, grandmother(s) Ruby Flax and Joanna Cuthbertson, and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives, and special friends.
