Monica was born October 5, 1971, to her late parents, Marie
Armstrong Bates and William Dale Hart. She was also predeceased by
her grandparents, the late J.C. and Betty Armstrong, Floyd and Naomi
Hart, and brother, Sean Frye.
Monica graduated from Harding High School in Charlotte, North
Carolina. After graduation, she obtained her Certified Nursing
Assistance certification and was employed at Efficient Care Services for
8 years as the Office Administrator and CNA.
Monica enjoyed spending time with family. She enjoyed cooking,
dancing, skating, traveling to the beach and mountains and taking
selfies and pictures. She especially liked eating seafood and sushi. She
and Tony would take DeMarco fishing and go watch him play sports.
Because of his love of sports, Monica faithfully attended his games and
became a Team Mom. Her relationship with him was a pure and
unconditional mother-son relationship. She will forever be missed.
Monica is survived by her husband, Antonio "Tony" Mann; son,
DeMarco Reid, both of Charlotte, NC; stepmother, Cheryl Cooper of
Gastonia, NC; mother-in-law, Patricia Blakely (Robert) of Charlotte,
NC; sisters, Laquisha Parks (Thomas) of Waxhaw, NC, Tarzana Bates
of Charlotte, NC, Tia Warren (Kevin) of Greensboro, NC, Alike
Cooper, Murfreesboro, TN; brother, William Hart II (Shanee) of
Baker, Florida; and a host of bonus children, aunts, uncles, nieces,
nephews, cousins and life-long friends.
