Montrell Denard Brooks, 38 of Charlotte, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, June 14, 2022.  He was born May 24, 1984, to Vivian Stowe and Charles Brooks in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Montrell was the youngest of five siblings, two girls and three boys.  He recently rededicated his life to the Lord and was attending Reconciling the World Ministries in Charlotte, NC under the leadership of Pastor David and Lady Jena Shipman.  He loved and appreciated the love, compassion and family that he came to know at RTWM.  Many who encountered Montrell found him to be a very memorable individual.  He often enjoyed food, fun and fellowship with members at RTWM.

Montrell attended Mecklenburg County Public Schools.  He was a cook at Showmars as his last place of employment.

Montrell met and married Breantly Allen and was married for 15 years at the time of death.  To this union, one son and three daughters were born.  Montrell truly loved his family.

Montrell was a lover of music, both "Old School" and rap.  His favorite thing was freestyling rap lyrics.  He also liked playing chess and basketball.  Montrell's personality was unforgettable and he will be truly missed by many.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his wife, Breantly Allen Brooks; daughter, Misstique Brooks; son, Montrell Brooks, Jr.; twin daughters, Mersedes Brooks and Mecca Brooks, all of Raleigh, NC; and father, Charles Michael Brooks; mother, Vivian Stowe; brothers, Michael Brooks, Maurio Brooks; sisters, Mesha Brooks and Cara Boyd Sinclair, all of Charlotte, NC; in-laws, Jarad Allen, Gai'Brealle Williams (Colin), Porsche Robinson, Sherry and Robert Robinson; and a host of nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles; many, many cousins; a very special friend, Anthony Boyce, Jr.; a special grandmother-in-love, "Nana" Mersedes Griffin; and "just like sisters", Ebony Williams, Shonda Smith and Hannah.
