Obituary

Mother Mozelle Stewart Miller, born to the late Odessa and George Steward on May 13, 1934 in Monroe, North Carolina and departed this life peacefully on November 6, 2022 at Novant Presbyterian Hospital.  Mozelle graduated from J.H. Gunn High School and later married and from that union came the loves of her life, two daughters and five sons.

She accepted the Lord at an early age and was a member of Greater Mt. Sinai Baptist Church.  One thing we know about Mozelle is that she loved the Lord and her church.  Beside that her family was everything to her.  She made sure that she did what she could to help them in any way possible.  Mozelle made sure she had a hand in raising her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Nothing made her more happier than seeing her family stop by her home or talking to them over the telephone.  Another thing about Mozelle is that she loved Tina Turner.  She knew every song, her life and watched her life story every change she got.

Mozelle worked and retired form Merita Bakery Company for over 32 years.  Her hobbies were cooking, shopping at Belk and Walmart and doing her crossword puzzles.  Her favorite saying was "That's what they said" or "Never say goodbye, it's see you later".

"Granny" or "Mudda" as she was affectionately called by her family and friends was a woman who was full of life.  She was preceded in death by her loving daughters; Mary Ann Burton and Marcella Miller Mobley; her sons; Charles Stewart and Johnny Lee Burton Sr.; bonus son; Freddie Lee Miller Jr., her sisters; Maggie Bell McKenzie, Johnny Mae Brown and Kathleen King; her brothers, Floyd Stewart, LW Stewart, Allen Stewart, Eugene Stewart and George Stewart.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories, her sons, Calvin Miller (Rosa), Joseph Miller and Theodore Burton; three grandchildren raised in the home, Reverend Demond Miller (Niya), Johnny Lee Burton, Jr., and Carla Ramirez (Eric); other grandchildren, Bryan Stewart (Tanzania), Crystal Stewart, Corey Stewart, Jonathan Burton, Calvin Burton, George Mobley, Jr. (Jasmine), Devondre Mobley, Jerrard Miller and Antonio Miller (Jomoree).  17 great grandchildren, 16 great great grandchildren; bonus children;  Brenda Long, Fredrick Miller, Ronnie Miller, Zandra Mosley and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
