Nancy Grissom Morrow, oldest child of the late Henry C. Grissom, Sr. and Anna D. Grissom, was born on March 26, 1926 in Charlotte, NC. She departed this life, with her brother, Willie James Grissom on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 4:27 p.m.
Nancy was educated in the Mecklenburg County School System, graduating from Clear Creek High School in 1945. She often reminisced about the old school days.
She was a faithful member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. Her devoted services included working with the Girl Scouts and feeding the homeless. She also belonged to the Jail Ministry, Kitchen Ministry, and Pastor's Sunday School. As years passed, Nancy returned to her family church, New Hampton Presbyterian, remaining a dedicated member until her death.
Love for family, friends, and church was foremost in her life. Gardening, canning, going on cruises, and volunteering as a poll worker were activities she truly enjoyed.
Nancy were preceded in death by her husband, Charlton Morrow; one sister, Mary Sloan; two brothers, Robert Grissom and Willie Grissom.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories one son, Belgie McClelland (Eva) of Charlotte, NC; step-daughter, Priscilla Fuller of Charlotte, NC; grandson, Belgie McClelland II (Sonya) of Houston, Texas; one brother, Henry C. Grissom, Jr. (Robbie) of Charlotte, NC; stepdaughter, Luciana Wilkes of Charlotte, NC; three step-great-granddaughters; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
