Nannie Grier Jackson, 93 of Matthews, NC, departed this life on Monday, August 29, 2022 at Royal Park Nursing Home in Matthews, NC.  She was born on March 31, 1929, in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.  She was the youngest of eight children born to Samuel and Maggie Grier.

Nannie, affectionately called Mull by love ones, was a lifelong resident of Mecklenburg County, growing up on a farm in what is now the Steele Creek community.  She earned her high school diploma from Pineville Sterling Public School.

Soon after, she met and married Sidney J. Jackson on September 25, 1948.  Their daughters are Edna (deceased), Maggie, Susan, and Anna and a son Kelly (deceased).

Mull joined the workforce in 1957, working at Carolina Foods and Radiator Specialty Company until she retired in 1994.  She enjoyed her retirement by walking, gardening, spending time with family and friends, visiting elderly neighbors, and baking sweet potato pies.  She also cherished spending time at the Stratford Richardson YMCA.

Mull was a beautiful person who touched the lives of so many people and never met a stranger.  She was a devoted Christian and strengthened her commitment to Christ as a faithful member of McClintock Presbyterian Church.  Mull joyfully served as a trustee, a senior choir member, the Presbyterian Women's Circle #3, and anywhere there was a need.  She was a lifelong member of McClintock Presbyterian Church.

Mull joins her five sisters, two brothers, her husband, daughter, and grandson, who preceded her in death, and leaves two daughters, Maggie (Donald) Dixon of Charlotte, NC, Susan (Mark) Hill of Houston, TX, and Anna Bailey of Stanley, NC, fifteen grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins to cherish her memories.
