Naomi Bernadette Johnson, 71 of Hampton, VA, departed this life on Tuesday, February 8, 2022.  She was born on November 5, 1950 to John Goodrich Coleman and Nonie Baker Coleman in the Bronx, New York.  She married the love of her high school years, Lawrence Holland, Sr., and from that union produced a son, Lawrence David Holland Jr.  She later met her lifetime friend/common law husband, George "Patch" White, where their relationship produced a son and a daughter, Brian Travis White and Genay Michelle White.

Approximately one year ago exactly, she married her long time friend and companion, William "Billy" Johnson, whom she loved tremendously and who blessed her life.  It was obvious that they loved one another dearly.

Naomi received her early education in Jamaica, New York and was a graduate of Jamaica High School.  Naomi loved to dance and so her parents enrolled her into the Bernice Johnson Dance Studios where she developed into a wonderful dancer and dance teacher; her specialty was Tap dancing and Naomi loved to tap, clicking those shoes wherever she went.  She later pursued an education in Beauty School.  Naomi also acquired an Associate Degree in Accounting.

Naomi began working for the Long Island Railroad in New York at the age of 18, where she met wonderful friends; after 32 years of service she happily retired.  She loved her job, took pride in what she did and loved the people she worked with.

After retirement, Naomi became an entrepreneur in Event Planning where she had such a creative gift, loved to decorate and absolutely loved to have a good time.  We look forward to her planning all of our family reunions, barbecues and parties.

At a certain point in Naomi's life, the issues of life touched her and it was necessary for her to join Narcotics Anonymous where she spent the rest of her life in the rooms encouraging and counseling others.  Upon her demise, she was 29 years clean.  Praise God!!!!

In Charlotte, Naomi was a member of the New Beginnings Community Church where she served the Lord.  She was also a member of her sister's church, Christ Community Ministries, where she trained the Usher Board.

Naomi was a great mother who supported and loved her three children unconditionally.  She was also an amazing grandmother and great grandmother.

Naomi will be missed by everyone who knew her, especially those who were the closest to her.

She leaves to mourn her loving precious husband, William "Billy" Johnson; her three children, Lawrence David Holland Jr. (Tysheia), Brian Travis White (Kendall) and Genay Michelle White; her sisters, Bishop Lillian Robinson-Wiltshire (Dwayne) and Catherine Jones; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Goodrich Coleman; her mother, Nonie Coleman Rhea; her step father, Montie Rhea; and her brother, John "Jay" Coleman, Jr.  John was also called "Clyde" while Naomi was called "Bonnie" because the two of them were Always in mischief together.

On the evening of February 8, 2022, Naomi went to sleep and Bonnie met Clyde once again.

Sleep on Mommy and find rest in the Master's arms.  We thank you for the love, life lessons and wisdom you shared with all of us!

We Love You and miss you tremendously!!!
