Natasha Jeanetta Brown Broome was a native of Charlotte, and was the daughter of Deborah L. Dozier and Donald Broome. She became the step-daughter of Raymond L. Dozier. She was born on August 1, 1973 and was diagnosed with kidney disease on her birthday, August 1, 2000. She lived and worked with the disease until she entered into eternal rest on Friday, July 15, 2022. She was married to Donnell Brown.
Tasha loved to learn. In her youth, she attended the Asheville Leadership Summer Camp, Duke University TIP program, and was an intern in UNCC Internship Program where she completed and won in their writing contest in Chicago. She attended Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools where she graduated with honors from West Mecklenburg High School. She continued her education at Campbell University where she was a member of the Phi Eta Sigma Freshman Honor Society and received her Bachelor's Degree.
Tasha was a loving person and always had a smile even when suffering. She was a long and faithful member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church (PHBC). In her early years, she was on the Junior Choir, Youth Usher Board, and Youth Missionary Group. In her later years, she volunteered and worked with several organizations at PHBC, Hornets Nest Girl Scouts and was the Cookie manager, the Youth Sports Department, and Youth and Young Adult Missionaries. She also volunteered and worked several years with Mecklenburg County Young Adult Missionary Group, and the National Kidney Foundation. She was a teacher and tutor as well as a Math whiz. She tutored several youth and adults in Latin, Math, English, and History.
Tasha worked with Crowder Construction and Wachovia before becoming ill and then worked for PHBC as the Financial Secretary. She loved doing taxes and worked for Community Link and Ada Jenkins in the The IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) where she also trained several other volunteers and became the coordinator of the program.
As a loving mother, daughter, sister, cousin, and friend to all she leaves to cherish her loving and colorful memories her children, Amelia D. Brown and Kim (Malik) Brown, and adopted daughter Diamond N. Wright, her parents Deborah L. & Raymond Dozier, and Donald Broome, grandmother Jo Evelyn Liggett, siblings, Demesha and Donovan Broome, God-siblings Yazmine Hood and Travaris (Tahj) Giles, her grandson Amir Robinson, her lifelong best friend Sonya (TIA) Greene, along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
