Nathaniel Kelly, 79, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2026, at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.

Nathaniel Kelly departed this life peacefully on April 27th, 2026. Nathan was a devoted husband, father, PopPop, uncle, and friend. He was known for his strength, kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith. He touched the lives of all who knew him and never met a stranger; making those around him feel welcome and comfortable.

Nathan was born on December 17th, 1946, to the late Lincoln Kelly and Frances Eller in Wilkesboro, North Carolina. He graduated from Wilkes County High School and earned an associate degree from Wilkes Community College. He enlisted in the United States Armed Forces at the age of 17 and was honorably discharged after achieving the rank of sergeant as an 82nd Airborne paratrooper. Prior to his retirement, Nate worked at Continental Tire.

Nate married Angela Sullivan on May 1st, 1988, in Charlotte, NC. They were married for 37 years, enjoyed their family life, and shared a love of travel.

Nate was a faithful member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed serving in several ministries. Most dear to his heart was the International Children’s Outreach Ministry, where he had the opportunity to travel to South Africa and meet the children who were helped by that ministry.

Nate will be remembered for his warm smile and the love he shared so freely. He is mourned by his children, grandchildren, and a great-grandchild, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
