Nina Danielle Smith, 38 affectionately called "Diva Baby" by family and friends, was born January 14, 1981 in New York, New York, daughter of Sadie Smith and Frank F. Smith.  She passed away to life eternal on Thursday, August 9, 2019, at Union County Hospice in Monroe, NC.

Nina was educated in the public school system of New York.  She graduated P.S. 175, 200 City Island in Bronx, New York.  Her teacher was Mrs. Robinson.  Nina attended Warwick Valley High School and graduated in 1999.

Nina enjoyed music, dance and singing, especially R&B and Hip Hop.  Her favorite colors were purple and pink.

Nina attended camp at Union Baptist Church in New Rochelle, New York where she performed dance routines with her peers.  She loved watching movies, and being with her nieces and nephew.  She enjoyed her goddaughter, Zahyrah, and her life long friends, Tina and Ebony.  Nina later enjoyed her acquaintances, Ms. Beverly and Ms. Jill.  She loved the special bond she had with her brothers.

Nina was preceded in death by her grandfather, Fred Singleton and grandmother, Della R. Singleton.

Left to cherish fond memories of Nina are her mother, Sadie Smith and father, Frank F. Smith; brothers, Cohadan F. C. Smith and Ethran P. Smith; sister-in-law, Sophia Shahia Smith; uncles, Charles James Hempfield and Jerry Hempfield; nephew, Gabriel Vasquez and nieces, Samira Smith, Larissa Smith and Ariana Smith; special friends, Ebony Colon and goddaughter, Zahyrah Colon; and a host of other relatives and friends.
